Fueling Citywide Renewal
The Norhill Sending Center is a permanent incubator for church health that equips church planters, develops leaders, and launches healthy congregations across greater Houston and beyond.
As property costs soar in Houston’s urban core, churches are increasingly priced out of ministry in these areas. When a historic gospel footprint, such as the former Norhill Baptist location, is redeveloped into commercial property, it is often lost forever.
Through this one property, our association is establishing a sending center in the Heights to invest in local, regional, and global Kingdom work.

What the Sending Center makes possible
The Sending Center establishes a permanent launchpad in the heart of our city for the health of our city and beyond
01
Local Gospel Presence
By purchasing this property, the Union Baptist Association has reclaimed a community footprint for gospel proclamation in one of Houston’s high-density urban hubs. In this way, the Sending Center provides gospel access in the city center, where church presence is difficult to maintain.
02
Regional Church Incubator
The Sending Center will host multiple congregations, providing the consistent worship space and collaboration church planters need to launch into diverse communities across Houston.
03
Network Hub
As the base offices for the Union Baptist Association, the Sending Center will provide a central location to host leader cohorts, workshops, and peer coaching that raise the baseline of health for existing congregations across the association.
04
Global Launchpad
What starts in Houston won’t stop in Houston. The ongoing work of the Sending Center will equip and send pastors, church planters, church revitalizers, and missionaries from our city to wherever God calls.

Why Now?
When the former Norhill Baptist facility was sold and converted into a wedding venue, little hope remained that it would become a church again.
But in early 2026, God opened the door to purchase the facility in the Heights for the benefit of the whole city.
As a local network of churches, the Union Baptist Association is uniquely positioned to make the space available and beneficial to the community, our city, and global Kingdom work far into the future.
Investing in Kingdom health
By giving to support the Sending Center, you sustain church plants, equip ministry leaders, and launch healthy congregations across Greater Houston for decades to come.

Sustaining Churches
By hosting multiple congregations from this facility, we’re lowering the barriers to entry into the Heights and offering reliable worship space for developing church plants.
Equipping Leaders
Through the ongoing work of the Union Baptist Association, the Sending Center will provide space for leader development, coaching, and ongoing church health.
Sending Out
By incubating church plants at a critical stage of development, these congregations gain the strength and resources they need to thrive wherever God would have them go.
